Positive thinking

February 7, 2009

Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success.  Getting into a habit of always thinking with the glass half full requires will power.  Overcoming laziness and procrastination, while at the same time controlling or rejecting unnecessary or harmful impulses. It is the ability to arrive to a decision and follow it, step by step with perseverance until the set goal is reached. For this to happen, one must have self-discipline.  Being able to withstand hardships, no matter what shape or form.  Immediate satisfaction is thrown to the side, as stepping stones takes a lot of effort and time.  The combination of will power and self-discipline in an individual leads to positive thinking.  When a student studies for two weeks straight for a history exam, nine times out of ten they are acing it.  Preparation leads to putting the mind at ease.  When prepared, you are always thinking positive thoughts, because you had the will power and self-discipline to get to that point.  Whether it regards a test, a diet, a dream job, positive thinking is the cornerstone to success in this world.
