Soulive New CD Released Today!

April 15, 2009

My favorite band, Soulive, just released their new CD today called, “Up Here”. They are not that well known so please check them out on iTunes.  They are actually performing tomorrow night at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City  if you want to see them first hand. I highly recommend it. I have included their “Up Here” press release and a clip of one of their songs, Mary, performed at the Knitting Factory in 2007 below.

“This is the Soulive album I’ve always wanted to record – it’s what I’ve been hearing in my head for years.” -Alan Evans

We’re pleased to announce the release of the first (of many) Royal Family recordings, Soulive “Up Here”. Self-produced and recorded by Alan at Playonbrother Studios in Northampton, MA, “Up Here” marks the trio’s long awaited return to its roots. With the help of vocalist Nigel Hall and The Shady Horns (Sam Kininger & Ryan Zoidis), “Up Here” rekindles the intensity of the “Get Down” sessions with a new found sensibility and maturity, developed over the group’s ten year history of recording and touring.

The album is currently available for download only, through iTunes and Amazon. Physical CDs will be available for sale at all tour dates, along with new t-shirts, hats and hoodies.

We hope you enjoy the new tunes…stay tuned for a full “Up Here” CD/DVD release this summer.
