Melo is no longer “underrated”

May 20, 2009

Carmelo Anthony’s coming out party was last night’s 105-103 loss against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples center.  The six year pro put on a show, racking up 39 points and harrassing Kobe Bryant all night long.  Although Kobe scored 40 points, and the Lakers went on to win, Anthony proved that he is among the elite in the NBA.  For anybody who doubted his work ethic in the past can watch last night’s highlights.  I still expect the Nuggets to prevail in this series, but regardless of what happens, Carmelo Anthony has solidified himself as a top 5 player in the NBA.

He had a great series in the last round dropping the Mavs like a nanny dropping a baby on its head. It was really the addition of Chauncey Billups that helped the Nuggets the most.
