World wants Cavs Lakers: Not gonna happen

May 26, 2009

The NBA wants the Cavs and Lakers to meet in the NBA finals.  Most people throughout the world want these two teams to face off in the 2009 finals.  Lebron James and Kobe Bryant are the two best basketball players on this planet.  That series would make for some great drama.  Unfortunately for all the Lakers and Cavs fans, the NBA finals is going to be the Denver Nuggets vs Orlando Magic.  Cavs guard, Mo Williams guaranteed a series victory last night.  He claims that the Cavs are the best team and definitely will beat the Magic to reach the NBA finals.  Williams might want to back up his talking with some consistent play for a change.  We might all be witnesses to Lebron, but he can’t win a game on his own.  The Cavs have matchup problems with the Magic, and it is obvious that Orlando has Cleveland’s number.  If it wasn’t for a buzzer beater three pointer by Lebron, the Cavs would be on the brink of elimination tonight. Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu will continue their hot shooting in game 4, to give the Magic a commanding 3-1 lead in the best of 7 series against the Cavs.  Everybody was calling for Stan Van Gundy’s head about two weeks ago, isn’t it funny how things change?

After watching the Denver Nuggets dismantle the Lakers last night, it made me that much more confident that the Nuggets will take down this series.  Home court advantage helps role players because they get boosted by the home crows cheering.  Chris “birdman” Andersen most likely won’t put up 13 points in one half, at the Staples Center.  He feeds off of emotion and adrenaline, and the same can be said for other Nuggets players.   The Lakers looked beyond fatigued throughout the game, and the Nuggets have much more depth.  Carmelo Anthony had a bum ankle, and the flu during the game, and yet the Nuggets role players stepped it up.  J.R. Smith scored 24 points, and dished out 4 assists, and Chris “birdman” Andersen made two huge third blocks in the second half.  Andersen is also a fan favorite in Denver, and if he is having fun, the crowd is the game, and the Nuggets are winning.  Game 5 should be a good one, but at the end of the day I believe that Denver will be too physical for Kobe and Co. down the stretch.  Carmelo Anthony should be over the flu by Wednesday, and the Nuggets will be ready to take homecourt advantage back to Denver.

I have to disagree. I think the Cavs win tonight to tie the series at 2-2. Then they will have home court advantage, where they were 39-2 at home in a best of 3 series. Keep in mind 1 of those loses was the last game of the year when lebron didn’t play. So 39-1 when lebron plays at home this year. The lakers go back home also. They are the 1 team that beat lebron on his home floor. Why because the lakers are the best team in the league and will win it all. The lakers were 36 and 5 at home this year. I think Lakers win this series in 6 and actually win in Denver in game 6. Cavs are winning the series also. Lebron is 2 good. but his luck will run dry in the finals. Lakers then win the finals in maybe 5. Lakers def winning it all. Giving kobe a 4th ring 2 behind MJ
