Two legends have passed

June 26, 2009

Yesterday was a very sad day, as we lost two beloved icons.  “The King of pop”, Michael Jackson shockingly died of a heart attack yesterday afternoon.  He was only 50 years old, and was preparing for a comeback tour in London in which he was going to perform 50 soldout shows.  Jackson is world reknown for creating what pop turned into.  Starring in the Jackson 5 with his four older brothers, Michael eventually became a solo superstar.  His 1982 album, “Thriller”is the most sold music album of all time.  He really influenced the landscape of what music is today, because so many of today’s artists at some point were inspired by his music.  A dance that was coined “The Moonwalk” is what Jackson is most famous for.  Sliding across the dance floor in an inhuman like manner.   Although the last 10-15 years of his life was filled with scandals, Michael Jackson will always be remembered as one of the most talented and creative musicians of all time.

Farrah Fawcett, the international sex symbol from the 1970s and 1980s, and the American actress has died of cancer at the age of 62.  Her first big hit was as a private investigator in the TV series, “Charlie’s Angels” in 1976.  She was more known for her beauty and record poster sales.  Women wanted to be her, and men wanted to be with her.  She influenced many young women in regards to portraying beauty throughout the 70s and 80s.  She laid out the foundation for what fashion became.
