Roger Federer: The best tennis player of all time

July 5, 2009

A couple minutes ago, Roger Federer won his 15th career major, as he defeated Andy Roddick in a never to be forgotten five set epic battle.  The longest set in Wimbledon history ended with Roger Federer holding up the trophy.  Consistency is what Federer has been about his entire career.  Never the most athletic player, or the strongest player, Federer has won over the years with great positioning and footwork.  Watching Federer over the years has been a treat.  Watching the best player in the history of the sport play in front of your two eyes is very gratifying.  As much as I was rooting for the american, Andy Roddick to win today, Roger Federer proved yet again why he is the best in the world.  Roddick gave it everything he had and more out there today.  Throughout the match, it was hard for me to believe that the best player of all time would succumb in a match of such magnitude.  That would be like MJ losing game 6 of the 98 finals against the Jazz.  Congratulations to the Roger Federer on breaking Pete Sampras for all time major wins.  Roger, you are officially the greatest that has ever stepped foot on a tennis court.
