Vikings are in a bind

July 25, 2009

The Brett Favre saga continues, and the Minnesota Vikings have now put themselves into a major bind.  Last year’s starting quarterback, Tavaris Jackson must be very aggravated with the actions of his teammates as of late.  Adrian Peterson and Jared Allen have been two players on the Vikings that have texted Brett Favre and encouraging him to play.  Favre is pulling his usual drama, and Minnesota is allowing it.  If Brett Favre decides to play, team chemistry will be questioned.  Many Jets players were disgruntled at the end of the season last year.  They claimed that Favre wasn’t really a part of the team, and when he was off the field he was never around.  If Favre doesn’t play, Tavaris Jackson comes in as the starting quarterback again.  However, he now sees that his teammates have more faith in a soon to be 40 year old quarterback than himself.  Without the Favre drama I felt as though the Vikings had as good of a chance as any team in the NFC to make a run at a Super Bowl this season.  At this point Minnesota has greatly dampered their chances.  I only hope that Brett Favre can make up his mind within the next few days.
