June 1, 2010

Today was quit facebook day as 32,749 protesters had deleted their facebook accounts.   Over the past six plus years, Facebook has turned into the world’s largest social network.  Facebook.com is visited by 540 million people per month, which is equivalent to over 1/3 of the internet population!  As facebook continues to attract more users, invasion of privacy has become a major concern to many.  Facebook doesn’t make all user information private automatically.  You have to manually control how much of your information is portrayed publicly.   Its going to be extremely difficult to get a lot of people to jump on the hatred of facebook bandwagon.  Mark Zuckerberg has created an addiction monster.  Millions of people are on facebook for hours a day, and it definitely has had an affect on interpersonal communication efficiency throughout the young minds throughout society.
